Attention Litchfield Residents,

The Town is working tirelessly to slow and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Virus. We will continue to adhere to CDC best practices and suggestions in order to keep our residents safe.

As your First Selectman I have been in regular, frequent communications with our local and state health officials, our town legal advisors and our first responders. I will continue to participate in conference calls from Gov. Lamont and our local health advisors so that I can update our residents regularly.

We are taking a proactive approach in dealing with this COVID-19 event and setting up our Community Emergency Response Volunteer Team in case we need to deploy. I urge residents to check on their elderly neighbors via phone calls, social media messaging or email. In the meantime, we urge you to continue social distancing, to follow the guidance of CDC guidelines (www.cdc.gov) the CT State Dept of Public Health (portal.ct.gov/coronavirus) and will continue to work with Torrington Area Health.

Town Litchfield Update:

Below are updates to municipal programs and local organizations. All information is considered interim and is all subject to change with short or no notice.

As of March 18th, I am asking our Boards and Commissions to postpone or cancel scheduled meetings until April 1st unless there is emergency business to conduct.

We are well prepared, if an outbreak should happen within our community, to respond accordingly and communicate that information community wide. We ask that you to continue to share our information publicly with your neighbors and friends.
