Welcome to the Town of Litchfield’s official website. I hope it is helpful and informative. In addition to the website, I invite you to visit our town, not only for its rich history, but also for its special annual events such as the Litchfield Hills Road Race, our Town wide Fireworks Community Celebration, Wednesday nights free Concerts on the Green, Scarecrows in the Meadow, the Holiday Stroll and the Milton Resolution Run. We also offer the beauty of open space, lake and waterways for fishing, boating and swimming. Miles of trails offer hiking opportunities from a short waterway boardwalk to day-long treks and horse trails. When it’s time to relax we have a wonderful selection of restaurants, shops and a spacious Green. For the summer of 2024, we look forward to the grand openings of the "Abner" Hotel which will be located inside the historic county Courthouse in the Center of Town, the Belden House & the Mews, just a few steps away located on North Street in the former Rosehaven facility and the transformation of the Old Tollgate Inn reopening as the Lost Fox Inn, located on Rte 202.
